SPINAL CORD INJURY
A spinal cord injury (SCI) occurs when damage to the spinal cord disrupts communication between the brain and body, often resulting in paralysis or loss of function below the injury site. Research focuses on understanding nerve regeneration, developing neuroprotective therapies, and advancing technologies like stem cells and brain-computer interfaces. These efforts aim to restore mobility, improve quality of life, and ultimately discover cures for SCI.
